A key on the oven keypad has been stuck pressed. The machine locks out to prevent unintended operation.
Unplug the appliance or flip its circuit breaker for 60 seconds. This clears any transient software fault. Plug in and test each button — if all keys work again, the fault was temporary.
Wipe down the control panel surface. If it has been wet (from a spill or steam), moisture can bridge contacts and simulate stuck keys. Allow the panel to dry thoroughly — use a fan or hair dryer on low heat.
Tools needed: Hair dryer (optional)
Visually check the touch panel surface for bubbles, tears, or delamination around any key. A delaminated key may contact the switch pad permanently (stuck key). If damage is visible, the membrane panel must be replaced.
Disconnect power. Open the control panel and locate the ribbon cable connector between the membrane panel and the control board. Reseat the connector firmly — ribbon cables work loose over time.
Tools needed: Screwdriver set
The membrane (keypad overlay) is a separate part from the control board on most models and costs $20–$80. Replace it before replacing the more expensive board.
