LG error code PF: Power was interrupted during a wash cycle. The dishwasher displays PF as an alert that the cycle did not complete.
Power was interrupted during a wash cycle. The dishwasher displays PF as an alert that the cycle did not complete.
Most power-failure indicators are not faults — the appliance is just notifying you that the cycle was interrupted. Press Start, Resume, or the cycle button. The display should clear and operation can continue.
Open your electrical panel and look for any breaker that is in the middle (tripped) position or fully off. Push it firmly to the OFF position, then back to ON. A breaker that trips repeatedly indicates an overloaded circuit or a fault inside the appliance.
Unplug the appliance and inspect the cord for cuts, scorching, or melted insulation. Plug a small device (lamp, phone charger) into the same outlet to verify the outlet is delivering power. A loose neutral inside the outlet can mimic intermittent power failures.
If voltage drops below ~95 V (in 120 V regions) the appliance's power supply circuit may report a power failure even though the outlet appears live. Use a multimeter to verify outlet voltage is between 110–125 V (or 220–240 V outside North America).
Tools needed: Multimeter
Repeated power-failure alerts often correlate with utility grid noise. A quality surge protector at the outlet, or a whole-home surge protector at the panel, reduces nuisance trips and protects the appliance's electronics from voltage spikes.

If the alert keeps appearing after confirming the outlet is solid, an electrician should inspect the branch circuit, the panel, and the utility connection. A loose neutral at the panel is a common cause that requires professional diagnosis.
