Locate the filter access panel on the lower-front of the washer. Place towels and a shallow pan below. Slowly unscrew the filter cap and drain water. Remove and clean the filter of lint and debris.

Pull the washer from the wall. Inspect the drain hose for kinks or tight bends. Straighten as needed. Ensure the standpipe is not higher than 96 inches.
Pour water down the standpipe to confirm it drains freely. If it drains slowly, the household plumbing may be partially blocked.
Remove the pump filter again and use a flashlight to inspect inside the pump housing for coins, buttons, or other debris. Remove any objects with pliers.
Tools needed: Flashlight, Needle-nose pliers
If the pump housing is clear and the hose is unobstructed, test the pump motor with a multimeter. No continuity = pump replacement needed.
