Samsung error code 41E: The ice dispenser auger motor is not turning when commanded. Ice will not dispense even when the bin is full.
The ice dispenser auger motor is not turning when commanded. Ice will not dispense even when the bin is full.
Most ice makers have a power arm or switch. Ensure it is in the ON (down) position. The ice maker will not cycle if the arm is raised (indicating a full bin) or the switch is off.
The freezer must be at or below 10°F (-12°C) for the ice maker to produce ice. Check the freezer temperature setting (0°F / -18°C is recommended). Warm freezer temperatures indicate a larger cooling issue.
Locate the thin water supply line connecting to the ice maker (usually a 1/4-inch copper or plastic tube). Confirm the saddle valve or dedicated shut-off valve is fully open. The line should not be frozen or kinked.
On most ice makers, insert a flathead screwdriver into the test cycle hole (small circular opening on the module) and press until you hear a motor sound. The ice maker should harvest any cubes and begin refilling. If it does not, the module or water valve has failed.
Tools needed: Flathead screwdriver
Disconnect power. Locate the water inlet valve at the back of the refrigerator. The ice maker uses one of its solenoids. Test that solenoid for continuity with a multimeter. Replace the valve if the solenoid is open.
Tools needed: Multimeter, Screwdriver set
If the water supply and temperature are correct but the ice maker still won't cycle, the module itself has failed. OEM ice maker assemblies are available as complete kits and usually require only a screwdriver to install.
Tools needed: Screwdriver set
