Whirlpool error code F3E1: The water level pressure switch is not reading correctly. The machine cannot confirm water level and stops to prevent overfilling or empty-drum operation.
The water level pressure switch is not reading correctly. The machine cannot confirm water level and stops to prevent overfilling or empty-drum operation.
The pressure/water level sensor connects to the tub via a small rubber or plastic hose. Trace this hose from the sensor to the tub. Look for kinks, cracks, or the hose being pinched by internal components.
Tools needed: Screwdriver set
Disconnect the hose from both ends and blow through it. Any resistance indicates a blockage — soap residue or debris can clog it. Rinse with warm water and reassemble.
At the tub connection point there is often a small plastic air trap. Remove and inspect it for soap or scale buildup that could block the air column.
Tools needed: Screwdriver set
With power off, disconnect the sensor wiring. Blow gently into the hose port on the sensor — you should hear a faint click from the internal switch. If no click occurs, the sensor may be failed. Replace with OEM sensor.
If water has entered the pressure hose (common after overflows), the air column is compressed by liquid rather than air, giving incorrect readings. Empty and dry the hose.
