Bosch Dishwasher E15 Error: Complete Fix Guide
E15 means water has reached the base pan. Don't run the dishwasher — use this guide to safely drain the base and find the leak.
What Is the E15 Error on a Bosch Dishwasher?
The E15 code means the anti-flood float switch in the dishwasher's base pan has been triggered by water accumulation. The machine automatically activates the drain pump and locks out to prevent flooding.
Step 1: Do Not Run the Machine
Running the dishwasher with E15 active risks water overflow.
Step 2: Drain the Base Pan
Tilt the dishwasher forward 45 degrees and hold for 1-2 minutes to let the water drain from the base pan through the pump. Place towels in front first.
Alternatively, remove the dishwasher from the cabinet and use a sponge or wet-vac to remove water from the base.
Step 3: Dry the Float Switch
Locate the small styrofoam float in the base pan. Ensure it moves freely up and down and is not stuck in the raised (triggered) position.
Step 4: Find and Fix the Leak Source

Step 5: Reset the Machine
After drying the base pan completely and fixing the leak, plug the dishwasher back in. The E15 code should clear.
